Cookie Policy

How we use cookies to improve your experience, transparently.

Last updated:

Full transparency

This policy explains which cookies we use, why, and how you can manage your preferences at any time. No non-essential cookie is enabled without your consent, and performance measurement, which uses no cookies, can be turned off whenever you want. This English version is for convenience; the Portuguese version prevails.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a site. They help remember preferences, keep browsing secure and understand how the site is used.

Characteristics

  • Small text files
  • Stored on your device
  • Not programs or viruses
  • Have an expiration date

What they are for

  • Remember your preferences (theme, language)
  • Keep browsing secure
  • Provide anonymous usage statistics

2. How we use cookies

Bywork processes browsing data for three purposes, and each one has its own legal basis:

  • Functionality and preferences: keep the site working, maintain security and remember choices such as theme (light/dark), language and your own cookie choice. They are indispensable to deliver the site you asked for when you opened it.
  • Performance measurement (legitimate interest): measure loading speed and aggregate page usage to keep the site fast and fix what stalls. This measurement runs on the site's own domain, without setting any cookie and without identifying you. That is why it starts active, and why you can object at any time, with no need to justify.
  • Google analytics (consent): Google Analytics and Google Ads, to understand how our campaigns perform. They set cookies, are third party and send data abroad. They only load if you accept, never before that.

3. Types of cookies used

We classify processing by purpose and by the legal basis that authorises it:

Categories, legal basis and control
CategoryPurposeLegal basisControl
EssentialBasic site functionality, security and memory of your preferences and your cookie choice.Performance of the service you requestedAlways on
Performance measurementLoading speed and aggregate page usage. First party, no cookies, no identification of the visitor.Legitimate interestOn by default, with the right to object
Google analyticsGoogle Analytics and Google Ads: campaign measurement. Third-party cookies, with international transfer.ConsentOff by default, only with your acceptance

4. Third-party cookies

Not every kind of measurement involves a third party, and the difference matters for your rights. Performance measurement is served on the site's own domain, by the same infrastructure that already delivers these pages: no cookie is involved and the data does not identify you. The only recipient is our hosting provider, which already handles your access anyway and is listed as an infrastructure provider in the Privacy Policy, including as to processing outside Brazil.

Google analytics, on the other hand, really is third party: once you consent, Google Analytics and Google Ads start setting cookies on your device and receiving browsing data, including outside Brazil, under Google's own privacy policy. None of it loads without your acceptance, and refusing does not limit any feature of the site.

No advertising tracking

We do not use remarketing cookies and we do not build advertising audiences from your browsing. If that changes, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested again, in a category of its own.

5. How to manage cookies

You have full control over everything that is not essential:

  • Consent banner: on your first visit, you can Accept all, Reject non-essential or Customize by category.
  • At any time: open to revisit your choice. The panel comes back with the current state of each category, and whatever you change takes effect right away. When you turn a category off, we reload the page to stop what was already running.
  • Browser settings: every browser lets you block or delete cookies (see the next section).

Important

Disabling essential cookies through your browser may affect how some parts of the site work. Refusing performance measurement or Google analytics affects nothing.

7. Changes to this policy

This Cookie Policy may be updated to reflect changes in our services, the technologies used or legal requirements. For material changes, we will show a new consent banner and update the date at the top of this page.
